| When I bought this BMW, it came with a high performance rear shock
from Works Performance of Canoga Park, California. During my trip,
I noticed the shock was starting to leak some oil. Since I was going
through that general area, I decided to stop in and get it serviced.
I pulled into Canoga Park (part of the Los Angeles area) Sunday evening
and spent the night. I called Works Performance at 7:30 and got directions
from Tim. In a few minutes, the shock was off and being worked on.
I was back on the road in less than an hour and a half. Great
work guys. |

Santa Monica Overlook
|
When I left Canoga Park, I took Topanga Canyon Blvd. south to Highway
1, the coast road. What a great ride. Lots of twisties through
the canyon. I stopped at the Santa Monica overlook to get one last
look at the smog. As they say in the song, "L.A. is just a great
big freeway". |
| How can I describe the Pacific Coast Highway? Incredible scenery,
cool ocean breezes, surfers, bikinis, convertible cars, and more
shiny Harley's than anywhere on earth. This is a must do experience
if you get anywhere near the coast. |

Solvang
|
I was cruising up Highway 101 when I saw a sign for a Dutch Village
called Solvang. I pulled off and took a look. Sure enough,
right in the middle of Santa Barbara County is a Dutch village. There
was an abundance of Dutch chocolate and Danish pastries on every corner.
This was a real treat. Beautiful and clean! Go east on 154
and you can't miss it. |
| One thing I can guarantee you! You will never get tired of the
view along the coast road. Every time you round a curve, there is
a new vista. Each one unique and special. The road stretches
out and slips behind you as the hours melt into a spectacular sunset.
